More Robuchon (At 1/10 The Price)

Still coming off the high of my meal at Joël Robuchon about a week ago, I decided to browse around some of MGM’s other restaurant offerings. Nearly two years ago, I had a phenomenal six-course meal at L’Atelier, Robuchon’s more casual eatery. For a guy like me that loves frill and dress codes, it was a refreshing change to have an exquisitely prepared meal without having to spend an hour and half looking exquisitely prepared for it.

On more spur-of-the-moment, less planned-out trips to Vegas, I often find myself in a situation where I’ve had a breakfasty lunch around 11am and am hungry for dinner by 6pm. I prefer something light as anything more combined with the heavy drinking that inevitably ensues later on in the evening makes for a volatile combination. Plus, I enjoy leaving room for a 3am coffee shop or room service nacho binge before bed.

It is for these reasons that if I was ever anywhere south strip and looking for a quick bite to eat for dinner, this would *by far* be my reigning choice. Seriously, $39 for three courses at L’Atelier is a year-round deal rivaling the relative bargains one only finds during restaurant week. And it even takes less time to complete than the line up at the MacDonald’s inside the food court so you can be back on the casino floor screaming for the 2-4 upset at the Sigma Derby machine in no time.

If you’re in the area, jump on this offer before they realize that we’re no longer in a recession.

Comments & Discussion:

Frog Legs, Mushrooms, in a dumpling? Three favorite things together at last. And no, that is not a joke.

Now that's more like it! $39 is a bargain, but why did I pay $180 for something similar in 2006? Must have been the wine.

$39??!! Really??!! OMG, I am SO THERE! I know it's L'Atelier, but that's still one amazing deal for a gourmet meal. :-)

Went a la carte in Nov 2009 and gladly paid a little over $200 for 2. Best steak I ever ate? Top 2 probably. Worth every penny. $39 is a great price but my dinner partner and I decided not to partake. Not a foodie but everyone has to visit L'Atelier at least once if they can. The experience is worth it.
