Fremont Goes Mad For March

Fremont, one of the few Las Vegas hotels we have yet to formally review, has rolled a giant basketball into their casino launched a new March Madness promotion - stay two nights for $64 bucks total, plus tax, tags and smog check.

Yeah, you're pretty much SOL if you're a weekend tripper, but $32 bucks mid week is a pretty good deal for a downtown love shack with rooms renovated 16 months ago. By comparison, Golden Nugget's rooms average out $51/night for the South Tower, on up to $83 for the brand new Rush Tower.

Either way, if you're looking for a booking, it seems like downtown might be the best bargain play in all of Las Vegas right now.

Comments & Discussion:

Stayed here in July of 09, was just a one nigher. Really enjoyed the place, certainly does not have the flash or opulence of the Nugget but this place has it's own old school Vegas charm to it. The rooms are small (as expected) but they are done up very nice.

My only complaint (and I see a lot of hotels do this when they renovate) is on the webpage that show you rooms with flat screen TVs and iPod docks.....when you get to your room though.......it's the old school alarm clock and CRT television. Not a big deal though, as that is not really what you are looking for when staying at the Fremont for $32 per night (I scored a $36 per night deal when I stayed). All in all, for a good crash pad in downtown for mega cheap......good place!

Gambling seemed to be a bit more enjoyable here than some of the other downtown places.

Stayed at Fremont for a night last fall. The rooms was small, but clean and functional. I would say it is the best cheap option for downtown.
