The Las Vegas Casino Death Watch was saddened to hear of the passing of one of the great American authors. Much as with any place that can serve as a worthy muse, there are many facets to the great city of Las Vegas. One cannot completely understand this remarkable city without having seen it through the eyes of Hunter Thompson. As a tribute to Thompson's influence on us and on American literature in general, for the next week we will be running our web page with a black background in memoriam.

Few have sufficient talent to pen a worthy epitaph for such a profoundly influential artist, so we will steal the words that Thompson used to to remember Dr. Timothy Leary and use them to describe the author himself:

"[He] was a Chieftain. He stomped on the terra, and he left his elegant hoof prints on all our lives."

Sic transit gloria mundi.
