ARIA: What's Wrong With This Picture?
While pouring over every detail of the recently released ARIA interior photos, I was rather startled to find this little gem.
Take a minute and look at the thing. (We'll wait)
Sure, it's a luxurious entrance area. Restaurants Blossom (Chinese) on the left and Lemongrass (Thai) on the right makes it abundantly clear that MGM is catering to its most coveted clientele and every customer--Asian, American, or Ken or Terry Watanabe -- is going to love a few skylights, right?
But, wait, there's something wrong here. Yeah, there are the marble floors that are going to wreak havoc on the Admiral's heels opening night, but that's not it. No, it's more obvious than that. It's right in front of you. See it yet? That's right, it's the four giant fucking pillars.
Now, we can forgive MGM for that whole 4,004 room snafu. Hell, that was probably a bean counter-cum-marketing executive decision that just went horrible awry. No, literally having the word "DEATH" stare your most lucrative customers dead in the eyes as they walk into your gaming area is a colossal fucking mistake. I can just hear one big renovation project getting ready in the wings.
As a friend on Twitter said, "Why not just have them walk through a giant lion's mouth as they go in?" Oh, wait, I think they tried that once...
