Simon Says: "We've Got Specials!"
Simon Restaurant and Lounge at Palms Place is a hidden gem. Located poolside on the sixth floor of a hotel about the same size as Wynn's Tower Suites, it shares striking similarities to the always awesomely reviewed Tableau. The only real difference is the more contemporary decor at Simon... oh, and the food's cheaper... and the crowd's skankier... oh, and the waitresses are way hot. Yeah, it's worth a visit.
The hidden location - so responsible for its laid back atmosphere and general lack of Trishelle cooties - has also hindered its business and made it subject to numerous specials. How about a Thanksgiving feast with wine included for $38? Or better yet, local's drink specials and happy hours available to all? Details here (cycle through the main restaurant pictures to see the specials).
If you're looking for fine dining at a hip spot without the sensory overload of Light Group restaurants, definitely give Simon a try. Their specials make them all the more appealing.

Long time reader, first time poster to this amazing site. Love everything you do, but... I have to say that Simon gives it a go, but falls short on so many levels. The food is ok but nothing spectacular. I loved the obvious day old selections on the Junk Food Dessert Plate. The service is green and not anywhere close to fine dining. When a restaurant offers those kind of specials, it means the are desperate and in trouble. I have been in the restaurant business for 10 years, work on the strip at one of the top restaurants, and have eaten at over a 100 restaurants in Vegas. When you wanna know about a good restaurant let me know. I have lots of reviews.
Being the only food offering and also doubling as the pool bar at the oft deserted and out of the way Palms Place has put Simon in a bad situation from day one. Trying to service everyone staying there means they can't really be special. Contrast this with the original plan where PP was filled with condo owners who would pop in for a classy lunch or high quality dinner every now and then. Personally, I like to go there after a spa for a good lunchtime burger and beer while gazing at the pool scenery.
