Vegas Casinos Circulating Fake Cash?
A lucky jackpot turned into a forgery case for a Rockford woman after she returned from Las Vegas recently and realized her $100 bill was actually a fake.
The 42-year-old woman called police Friday morning about the bill, saying she'd just returned Jan. 21 from a short vacation. She won $400, put the money in her purse and hadn't touched it again until Friday.
She went to a local bank to deposit the money and noticed one of the bills "didn't feel right." The woman told police the bill was smooth and didn't feel like paper money. Coloring on the back of the bill also seemed unusual.
