It's The End Of Bob Stupak's Vegas World As We Know It

Stupak VegasWorld

Speaking of beginnings and endings, John L. Smith at the Las Vegas Review Journal is reporting that legendary casino impresario Bob Stupak's ongoing health problems have taken a stark turn for the worse.

Stupak - the man responsible for the Stratosphere being slightly crooked, creating the prototype for casino marketing spam, inventing crackpot carnival casino games like no bust blackjack and craps-less craps AND introducing legions of Americans to the joys of making sense of casino value propositions - is a Las Vegas legend, whose much-maligned contributions to the art of casino ownership land him firmly in the same league as any Binion, Boyd or Fertitta.

For the complete Stupak story, check out John L. Smith's excellent Stupak biography No Limit: The Rise and Fall of Bob Stupak and Las Vegas' Stratosphere Tower, which is an essential addition to every Vegas lovers bookshelf.

The Vegas world needs more Bob Stupak, not less.

Update: Thanks to Atltrainman for bringing this to our attention via The Board, then kvetching about omitting giving him the proper credit for it in the comment below while accusing us of plagiarism. My bad.
