Le Limo With Your Langoustines?

Vegas' only Michelin Three Star restaurant, Joel Robuchon (did they drop the "at The Mansion" part?), has been resistant to lowering their standards to the likes of their neighboring restaurants by avoiding seasonal and very reasonably priced tasting menus.

They did eventually cave-in... sorta'. With an $89 option, it's a significant price of entry for a two-course meal that'll have you craving In 'n Out by the end of the night. The fact they even mention an amuse-bouche is the first signal that you might be viewing a rip-off. For that kinda' dough, L'Atelier is a much better buy.

Indeed, MGM might not be the best place to house a restaurant that prides itself in a $385, 13-course Menu Degustation. Think about it: 51 Skylofts, 29 Villas - 80 truly high end, not-in-dire-need-of-renovation units in a 5000-room behemoth where the majority of its guests will lunch at the food court and splurge at a Craftsteak.

So how do you attract the Wynncore Tower Suites customer away from Alex or the couple in the Bellagio penthouse that's thinking about Picasso tonight? How do you attract the kind of people staying in other hotels that'll start with a cocktail, spring for the Degustation, and wash it all down with a bottle or two of wine?

Easy. Tear a page out of Casa di Amore's strategy and quietly add this nice little perk on Robuchon's page:

Joel Robuchon restaurant offers complimentary limousine service to all guest reservations for the restaurant.

Comments & Discussion:

Seriously, I could've used that last week. After Top Chef had Robuchon on we wanted to eat there, but were scared off by the thought of a 40 minute (and 100 degree) cab ride from the Wynn.
