Let The [Gastronomic] Adventures Begin!
Before I really get into the thick of posting here at VT, and before all of you get a real chance to get to know me and my Las Vegas-style (blend Chuckmonster, MikeE, and Brian Fey together in your handy-dandy Cuisinart personality processor, and you're getting close) I wanted to give everyone a taste of one of the most wonderful events to take place in Vegas each year: Las Vegas Restaurant Week.
Just when you thought you'd never be able to dine within bling shot of Steve Wynn at Sinatra, the good folks at Three Square Food Bank, in coordination with almost every haute eatery in Las Vegas, is embarking on its second annual Las Vegas Restaurant Week.
For one week - starting today - restaurants along the Strip will be offering prix fixe menus for the ultra-low, limited time price of $50.09. A three course meal at Sinatra for $50.09? And the menu offers the restaurant's signature Osso Bucco "My Way?" And it helps charity? Yes. A three course meal at L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon for the same price? Yes. Prime? Yes. Craftsteak? Fleur de Lys? Mesa Grill? Yes, yes, yes.
If there is a restaurant you've wanted to try but were prevented from doing so by the price, then this week is that rare chance. For me, it's the time I'll finally be able to make the jump into L'Atelier.
For more information, a complete listing of restaurants participating in this fantastic event their respective menus and prices, visit Restaurant Week at ThreeSquare.org.

Comments & Discussion:
I've heard about this event, but never really knew what it was. I didn't realize the extent of which it covered. If this becomes an annual event, then I'd be very tempted to book a trip, next year in during this same time frame. Many people hit Vegas to party and gamble, but dining and shows, has always been at the top of my list. As you all know, dropping $200 a couple for dinner, with no drinks, is pretty easy to do in Vegas. After 3 or 4 nights of this, it can really start adding up. I'd love to hit some new places, and get out for $125ish per night. I wonder if this is traditionally a slow week, and the reason they time this during this period?
Dining out 7 times in 6 days. Off to Craftsteak now...
This is the third year. I think I will try to plan a trip around this next year.
