Some Firm Info on Monte Carlo's Hotel32

Apparently, they must be extremely bored over at Monte Carlo. I just called to see if by any chance Hotel32 would be open for my July or August trips. No such luck, but let me tell you, it was as if I was the first person to call the hotel all day. The reservation agent proceeded to read me every single detail on Hotel32 and then gave me the highly Romanticized epic tale of the day they all took a tour of Monte Carlo's top floor, recalling the moment in which they gasped in unison as the elevator doors opened and a hip concierge lounge dominated the space.

I've researched, written, and been to Vegas enough times to sift through the marketing hype and know what to expect, but nevertheless, Hotel32 has got several things to be excited about including:

  • Roundtrip chauffeured limousine to and from the airport
  • Porte cochere meet and greet with in room registration
  • Custom stocked mini bars with complimentary non-alcoholic refreshments
  • A concierge lounge with hot and cold appetizers, bar, and other refreshments
  • Private elevator
  • Complimentary spa access
  • Crestron remote controlled televisions, drapes, etc

Haven't I read this before - twice?! Sounds like MGM's Skylofts or ARIA's Sky Suites. But while most of the price you'd pay for those accommodations are for the massive rooms, Hotel32 will serve a niche of travelers that like that level of service but don't need the space. With "studios" starting at only 400 square feet, rates will start at $250. If you need more space, they've got penthouses at (yikes!) $5000 and over 2000 square feet.

No date is set in stone and I half expect them to change, but as of this writing, they will begin taking reservations June 30th for bookings from August 10th and on.

Comments & Discussion:

$250 doesn't seem too bad, considering. Especially since that's the rack rate and not discounted yet. Although if you're from SoCal and driving in, you don't get the benefit of the limo, unless you park your car at the airport and pretend you just got off a flight.

Although I'd only consider it if they replenished the minibar daily, otherwise NO GO.

MGM Mirage room res agents get timed on how long they are on calls vs. how long they are sitting around doing nothing. They purposely drone on and on to make their talk % longer for the day. Thats probably why they gave you their life story.

This might actually be a good deal. You get a nice remodeled "studio" for $250 (which will probably drop to $149 by opening). Airport rt is worth at least $40. Comp nonalcoholic minibar bevs is good for $25. Spa pass is worth $20. Appetizers and open bar lounge is good for another $20. No hassle check-in is worth at least another $20. With the monorail access into CC; this could be a viable option for this fall.
