Dear Planet Hollywood, Your SSL Cert Is Fail

Why is it that whenever I get the itch to book a hotel room, the hotel in question's website booking system is broken? Last time it was the Palazzo's busted reservation system, now its Planet Hollywood booting some variable callback in its SSL certificate (the thing that guarantees a https session is actually secure.)

Safari had this to say:

Firefox provided a bit more verbose error messaging:

Note the single bullet point: "Please contact the web site owners to inform them of this problem."

I'll get to that after I'm done booking the room.

Comments & Discussion:

Thanks for bringing this to our attention! I'll make sure our IT team looks into it first thing Monday morning, if not sooner.

planet hollywood: 1 customer service point.

Just wanted to follow up on this... Saturday night/Sunday morning we were updating our booking engine. Because of locks on certain files, the system was brought down for about 20 minutes to perform the backup. Unfortunately, you just happened to try to book during that time. The backup was completed around 12:30AM Sunday morning and should now be fully operational. If you find otherwise, please let me know.

The P-Ho looks like a cool place to stay but every time I look to book, it seems too expensive compared to what other similarly-rated casinos are charging.

Actually, PH has been offering some killer deals lately, especially if you go mid-week. Some of their rates start at $59/nt and include a free bottle of booze each day! I booked my room for next week on Hotwire and paid $49/nt.

Sign up for PH's emails and Twitter feed -- Brandie sends out some great bargains. (Thanks!)

@phVegas thanks for the followup. apparently, I've got a talent for look/book-ing during maintenance window periods.
