The Showgirl Gets A Giant Slot Machine

Bette Midler's people sent us a press release trumpeting the celebration of the 100th performance of Bette Midler's "The Showgirl Must Go On" at Caesars Palace.

99% of the time we pass on press release inspired posts, unless there is something compelling about the subject or a goofy photo attached. In this case, we've got both.

The Showgirl Must Go On opened in February 2008, at precisely the same time the economy started tanking and Vegas devolved into a virtual ghost town. That any large scale production event has survived the nightmare of the last year is an amazing feat, at any caliber of star power.

To celebrate the occasion, Ms. Midler was presented with a bouquet of flowers and a gigantic commemorative slot machine graphic. Here's a pic of the slot machine thingy:

Hrm. I hate to be the nitpicker, but 1 | 0 | 0 on the payline looks like a loser to me. Being reasonably handy with the Photoshop, I offer up this fixed version for your review:

Much better.
