This Fourth of July Holiday Might Actually Be... Um... Cool

Year after year, patriotic tourists return from Independence Day in Vegas disappointed in the lack of strip revelry. Should that come as any surprise?

For a city that does everything over-the-top, fireworks are hardly an attraction when set across the backdrop of neon lights, explosive volcanoes, dancing fountains, and a 725-foot-spelling-error-with-an-uncertain-future blocking the views. And as for crowds, if you're the type looking for that St. Patrick's Day, Halloween, or New Year's Eve party vibe, you'll be equally disappointed to know the 90 plus degree evening temps keep the masses celebrating the nation's birthday in much cooler locales.

But this year, Station Casinos is upping - way upping - the ante with a display that might actually be worthy of a breather from the tables. According to KTNV, Station plans to set off nine fireworks displays simultaneously from their properties throughout the valley.

Our suggestion? Make the fireworks part of Vegas' regular offerings. Spend some quality time somewhere with unobstructed views like MIX Lounge at THEhotel or Veloce Cibo at the new M Resort where the fireworks will be icing on the cake to an already spectacular evening.
