Note To Self : Don't Steal Rewards Points From Players

Here's a new one, an employee of the Tulalip Resort Casino just north of Seattle Warshington was arrested and charged with Theft by an Employee of a Gaming Establishment On Indian Land after being caught fudging the "Rewards Club" points database.

A patron complained to the Rewards Club Supervisor (the guy in question) that $500 in point totals were missing from their account. The guy logged the complaint but did nothing to fix it. A follow up on the complaint revealed that the guy in question was funneling other players reward points into vouchers, which he would give to his friends and family who redeemed them for cash back, casino swag or meals in the restaurants. They'd kick some of the cash back to the dude.

The casino estimates that the total number of rewards points that have been stolen to be about $20,000.

If there is a lesson in this - other than crime doesn't pay - its that keeping your eyeballs on your rewards points before, during, after and between casino trips is a really smart idea. You will know if you're getting screwed, know when you've got offers and know when points vanish due to lack of play (*a-holes*.)

So, go find the surprises:

Harrahs: Total Rewards
MGMMirage: Players Club
Boyd Gaming: BConnected
