We just got some spam from MGM Mirage entitled ARIA Confidential, which we're going to guess will become a running series of property previews leading up to the opening of ARIA in December 2009.

This issue of ARIA Confidential contains a link to a mini-site which contains all sorts of neato information about five of ARIA's dining options : BarMasa & Shaboo, Sage, American Fish, Sirio Restaurante and Jean Georges Steakhouse. Also included in the mix is a short interview with ARIA's VP of Food & Beverage Bart Mahoney.

Check it out here.

ARIA opens in 253 days.

Comments & Discussion:

Admittingly, while I didn't not spend a lot of time there, nothing really jumped out to me as a shining star. The few photo's I saw, sure do have MGM written all over them. More of the same, uninspiring, contemporary looking places. I guess contemporary design, is ok, but the main problem I have with it is, it kind of all starts to look the same. And MGM just takes that same modern-contemporary look, and does it over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over. Sorry, but I think you get my drift. I just don't get that warm and fuzzy feeling when I am in an environment like that. But MGM just doesn't get it, they keep making this mistake time after time. There is a reason that Bellagio is their top property. Is because people love the elegance and warmth of the place. Its about the only casino that left from Mirage Resorts that has not gotten a complete makeover if you will. So did MGM try to dupicate that look and feel with some of their other properties? No, they just keep on delivering the same cold, hard, look that you get with contemporary design. Glass and Steel, is fine in a Apple store, but its not what I want in a resort, its not a warm and inviting feeling that it gives off. I don't go into a place with design like that, and want to stay there forever. So I'll reserve final judgement until I see the finished product, as I always try to do, but so far, I'm far from impressed.
