You've probably heard of Trailer Station, a casino which was opened for eight hours to satisfy gaming regulations which require gambling on the property every 24 months.

A bunch of industrious folks from Nacogdoches County opened their own casino, this time with more authentic decor - a real double wide trailer. The cops raided Texas Trailer Station and found 71 '8 liner' slot machines, $15k in cash plus evidence that the operators have been making daily bank deposits in the three weeks they've been operating.

Before the raid Saturday night, more than two-dozen officers from the county sheriff's office, Texas Rangers, state police and the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission discussed their game plan thoroughly, strapped on their bullet-proof vests and waited for a text message from two undercover officers inside the gambling hall. Once the plain-clothed officers inside had seen enough to verify the establishment was illicit, several unmarked trucks driven by sheriff's deputies led the way in, first taking into custody a suspected lookout sitting in a truck in front of the dirt road that led to the trailer. The rest of the vehicles, with marked cars in the back of the caravan, rushed into the jam-packed parking lot, securing it, and officers surrounded the trailer before they entered through the front door. There was no resistance by any of the patrons or suspected employees of the casino.

Vegas casino operators could learn a thing or two from these guys... they comped Little Debbies snack cakes & soft drinks, gave away gift cards and candy baskets made by local church members, had recycling bins for empty drink cans, placed air fresheners on top of slot machines and had a ramp for wheelchair accessibility.
