Here's a coupla construction pix snapped of City Center the other day. It's starting to "finish up" in a lot of ways.

Vdara Aria CityCenter Las Vegas

Vdara & Aria with the Cosmopolitan rear tower sammitched between. Vdara looks to be completely sealed up as does Aria with exception of that one line of open windows. Not sure if I like the Vdara logo right there. I wonder what the view is if you are staying in a room directly behind one of the letters.

Aria CityCenter Las Vegas

The apex of the city center tower. I think that this is just frilly stuff to hide airconditioning units and the like. If i remember correctly, there's going to be a garden of some sort on top of it... we'll see how long that lasts.

Veer Towers CityCenter Las Vegas

Up close, the Veer towers certainly do give off the sense of vertigo... the one tilting to the left looks to be tilting even more because the one on the right tilts the opposite direction.

Harmon Towers CityCenter Las Vegas

And last but not least, the structurally stunted Harmon, with its 28th floor cap being applied.

Whenever I see these buildings, I come away asking the question: how the hell do they do that? At the very least, large scale construction is testimony to the wonder and usefulness of opposable thumbs. Take that you thumbless sloth!

Comments & Discussion:

It looks a lot better than it did when I was out there in May last year. Jesus Christ it was horrible!! And our view from our suite at Polo Towers was of CityCenter. Dead center view.

Ah polo towers, last time I stayed there the rooms were located right under the webcam they setup for the street view. Very interesting time....

Yeah what's good about the PoloTowers is that the rooms have balconies, so you can be out there in the buff.....doing it, waving to people as they walk by. It's fantastic.
