Mmmmm... Sinatra at Encore (Kool Aid Part 2)

Dinner tonight at Sinatra was a real treat. Even though the reservation got botched (?) they sat us quickly in the back near the windows that look out on the patio. The waiter arrived and said "would you like a menu or would you like to have the chef create a menu?" We looked at each other and opted for the second choice.

What ensued was one of the top 10 meals I've ever eaten. Chef Theo Shoenegger put together a five course meal, taking into account various food allergies (mine: mushrooms & beef) and served with a different glass of wine with each course.

The food was phenomenal. We'll be putting it all together into a VegasEats article, shortly after we return, but suffice to say it's not an Italian restaurant... their culinary concoctions hit that rare spot that tingles your home fires and challenged what you thought was possible.

As an added bonus, Elaine Wynn sat down at the table next to us with four other people and talked with them about Sinatra/Wynn relationship, Encore and their history from the days of the Nug downtown to Nug AC on through Mirage, Bellagio, Wynn and Encore. It was great fun - and a challenge - to eavesdrop on her oral history of the Wynn's history.

After dinner Miss Mo headed up to the room for a bit and I went searching for the blackjack tournament which I didn't find (booo!) but ended up doing a bunch of gambling anyways (I lost.) On the way back to Encore through the Esplanade I stumbled upon Mr. & Mrs. Wynn, taking an evening stroll and chit chatting.

One of these days I'm gonna grow enough balls to talk to Steve about what he's got planned for the Cotai project. Maybe tomorrow?

That's it for tonight, gotta make up for yesterdays lack of sleep. Lots more Kool Aid to drink tomorrow.

Comments & Discussion:

Sounds like an exquisite dining experience indeed. We'll be dining there this Saturday and your post just reassured my expectations with Sinatra.
