Luck Runs Out At Fitzgerald's Reno
32 years since it's opening, Fitzgeralds Reno has closed forever.
Current owners L-3 properties plan to turn it into a "boutique hotel."
At least it's not going to become a pawn shop like the Horseshoe Reno.

Comments & Discussion:
Worst darn buffet I have ever been to, it made Circus Circus LV look like the MGM Grand.
Agreed, I stayed at the Fitz twice over the years, but one trip to the buffet was enough! In my experience, the only ones as bad were the Cal-Neva in Reno and the Imperial Palace in Vegas. The casino was dark and not very inviting, and the rooms were in bad need of renovating. Hopefully, the new ownership has success with this property in bringing business back to downtown. I was in Reno in July, and was very impressed with the RiverWalk and the improvements made on Virginia Street. Once the new ballpark opens, I think downtown Reno may be poised to make a big comeback.
