The Real Reason MGMMirage CEO Terry Lanni Quit
Did he cook the books? Fudge the numbers? Mistake his A.A. from DeVry for an MBA from USC? Did he schtup Kirk Kerkorian's tennis teacher? Continually dressed inappropriately on Hawaiian Shirt Friday? Mistook the two martini lunch for a two yards of beer mid-morning cigarette break? Caught drinking at the Hawaiian Marketplace?
Nope. Terry Lanni quit because MGM Mirage sold his airplane... probably the old one, not the new one.
Terry - don't let the bathroom door hit your ass on the way in!

I guess he didn't want to fly commercial with the unwashed masses (after all, to get to some of the MGM properties, there's not a first class section on the plane).
I'm sure MGM Mirage isn't the only one who'll be selling off their fleet. I wouldn't be surprised if Las Vegas Sands sells off their L-1011s and 747SPs (more than likely for scrap as in the case of the L-1011s, as other than a handful operated by some sketchy charter airlines, the RAF is the main operator of the type).
I just started a blog and your article is the subject of my inaugural post. Harrah's requires 3 sets of eyes to check and sign off on every single promotional item that goes out, so I'm very surprised that this happened. With the Vegas casinos looking for any excuse to "cut costs" I'm sure that somebody lost their job over this
