Las Vegas Sands Corp's House of Cards Crumbling?

Is Las Vegas Sands Corporation (LVS) extremely leveraged house of cards tumbling into bankruptcy?

Since reader Atltrainman started this thread on The Board, many of the dominoes outlined in the response I gave him have come to fruition. Honestly, I didn't think it would take less than a month for LVS to implode... I was thinking at least 6 months to a year before it would happen. Lo and behold, step by step, inch by inch, the gondola is taking water, all hands are on deck and nobody is singing.

Cotai projects : paused.

Sands BethWorks : paused.

The condos next to the Venetian/Palazzo? Paused.

A bright spot in an otherwise murky future is Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. The local tourism board said that they'll partner with LVS to get 'er done no matter what.

Better cash out your Club Grazie points ASAP.

Comments & Discussion:

OK those condo's by the Venetian/Palazzo, have they started construction on those? I thought they had, if so that just leaves another 1/2 built eyesore on the Strip. Way to go.

Another blow to LV Sands came today when they announced they are suppending construction on the St. Regis Condos in Vegas and several projects in Macau.

Adelson had to put another $525 million of his money into the company today, and LV Sands is selling more stock to try to raise money.

Even their auditors, PriceWaterhouse Coopers, said that if they don't raise money soon and they default on some loans, they don't think the company can survive.

Yep the end is nearer than people want to believe.

I would interpret the cited quote as comparing the premium show versus a lower-tier show received for free by wasting a few hours. I don't think that it is such a laughable conclusion -- frankly, if the quote were accurate, the timeshare sellers would have to find a new marketing method since nobody would be going to the presentations.
