(Dec. 27) -- If you were thinking about hopping on board the monorail at midnight to catch the fireworks this New Year's Eve, you'll have to make other plans. The monorail will shut down during the fireworks show. It's just one of several safety precautions in place this year.

According to a new national survey, the Strip is the number one choice among Americans to ring in the New Year. But it isn't always the best place to view the sensational fireworks show that will start with the countdown to 2005. And unfortunately, the seats from the elevated monorail won't be available either.
