The Elvis Building Has Left The... Uh... Building?

Reuters is reporting that FX Real Estate and Entertainment, the folks who own the Elvis trademark, is "reviewing plans to redevelop its Las Vegas properties."

While no definitive determination has been made by the Company, it is unlikely that the program originally proposed [The Elvis Hotel & Casino - Ed] will be undertaken. The Company intends to continue the properties' commercial leasing activities pending any such definitive determination.

Ladies and gentlemen, the Elvis Building has left the... uh... building. Maybe.

Possibly the best thing to come out of this, other than the cancellation of the Elvis casino, is fellow Vegas Gang-ster David McKee's request for dedicated semantics which describe failures of this type.

We need to come up with a new term, something that will be the casino-resort equivalent of "vaporware," to describe pie-in-the-sky projects like this.

Golly David... your request to the vox populi has been answered! Using a popular meme no-less.

Comments & Discussion:

there already is a website keeping track of all of these "pie-in-the-sky" projects, as he put it: vegastodayandtomorrow.com, look under the "dreams" section.

Screw those other websites... I think Vegas Tripping needs a Failsino tab. And to keep it simple, just rob Vegas Today & Tomorrow's content.
