Eastside Cannery = Funormous!
You may have noticed that - with very few exceptions - VegasTripping doesn't cover "locals casinos." We made a decision way back when to sorta focus on the stuff we thought was fun and interesting. Fill In The Blank Station casinos (generally) don't get our blood pumping.
All that being said... a new locals joint, Eastside Cannery is opening tonight (at Harmon and Boulder Hwy) and based on the profile in the LV Sun as well as it's incredibly McDonalds-like website - check out the light show on the hotel tower, it looks like something you'd find in Macau!. Added up and I'm sold.
Frankly, it looks supremely tackfabulous, kitschtastic, funormous and awesomalicious. Time to cancel those Palms Place Studio Room reservations... I'm staying at Eastside Cannery next time, guaranteed.

It looks like the hotel portion only has King bed rooms, from the reservations section of the web site. According to the pricing calendar, most weekdays are $69 and most weekends are $129/night. Not bad for a brand new hotel. I'm sure we won't see prices that low at Encore or even Aliante Station when it opens in Nov.
The other nice thing is that you won't have to slip the desk clerk a $20 tip/bribe to get a newly refurbished room, since they all are brand new.
I'm going to check this out because it's in my neighborhood, but man does that chick on the website scare me. She's been on a billboard on the 95 for the past few months, and it looks like she's got a black eye or something.
i know where i'm going next time i'm in vegas...'Deli'.
