Girls Gone Wild Founder Sued For Unpaid Gambling Marker at Wynn Las Vegas

The Las Vegas Review Journal is reporting that Joe Francis, founder of direct mail boobie shaking empire Girls Gone Wild has been sued by Wynn Las Vegas for unpaid gambling markers dating back to early 2007.

Mr. Francis was recently bailed out of prison in Reno while he awaits trial for deducting $20M worth of fraudulent business expenses from his income taxes. Mr Francis' Girls Gone Wild series generates about $100M in revenue annually.

In other lawsuit news, Wynn filed suit against the National Basketball Association and Alonzo Mourning Charities claiming that both organizations stiffed the property on bills for a meeting which took place during the much maligned NBA All Star Weekend last year. Wynn has since removed the NBA from the suit, claiming that their inclusion was 'clerical error'.

Suing a charity is never a good PR move. I'm sure there were many ways to avoid this happening without resorting to litigation. At the very least WLV could've absorbed the $50k, called it a 'donation' and sent out a positive spin press release. Everybody wins.
