Vegas Monorail Could Reopen For New Year

You probably should sit down before you read this. If everything goes well in the next week, the Las Vegas Monorail could be open for business again by New Year's Eve.

Officials with the monorail say they have isolated and fixed the problems and are in the middle of a rigorous testing phase designed to bring the system back online before you have to throw away your 2004 calendars.

Before you go popping the champagne corks, it's important to note that just because they say it's a possibility doesn't mean it's really going to happen. Anything could go wrong including, for instance, a bolt falling off of a train during testing last week.
