Encore Las Vegas Opens Loading Status Bar

A new bar has prematurely opened at Encore. The new 'must see' attraction called "Loading Status Bar" is currently on display at Encore Las Vegas' website.

I've loaded this thing up three times already - an animation of butterflies and flowers and wispy grass in the wind accompanied by a luxurious fanfare (which ends about 1 minute before the animation barely begins to get started).

I just loaded it up again... took a screen shot of the loading bar, cropped and resized it in photoshop, uploaded the image above to VT's server and wrote 1/2 of the above post before the thing finished loading. This isn't meant to show my technical wizardry, to the contrary I'm slow as molasses... but apparently not as slow as this supreme web mistake by Wynn's web team. The booking engine for Encore (also written in Flash) is a departure from the Wynn Las Vegas one, and a confusing one at that.

Let's hope the opening of Wynn's Encore (theoretically pinned for mid-December 2008) is less of a kludge than this flash-based-disaster.

Oh... Encore has begun accepting reservations for February 2009.

WLV is going to transition to the Encore reservations system once its stable. This is like its live beta test.

The team knows it has issues but if you find something extraordinary, I know that they *do* want to make it awesome so report it here or at TWHT.
