Best Hotel Promo Ever : Your Room Rate = Temperature In Vegas

This has got to be one of the most clever promotional gimmicks ever served up in a town that does nothing but serve up promotional gimmicks.

The Venetian is offering up rooms rates (on select dates, of course) wherein the rate you pay is the forecasted high temperature in Las Vegas on the days you book. The promo goes from now until Labor Day weekend, where temps range from 90 to 115 degrees. Or more.

Here's the email (follow the link below to check the rates yourself):

Venetian Weather Promo

Before you run to the Batphone to make a reservation, let's do a little math.

- You've got until June 27th to book your room, barely enough time for a glacier the size of Tipper Gore's hatred for rock N roll to roll into Nevada.

- The deal is unavailable on many Friday and all Saturday nights.

- Rates on "off" days run from $199-$349, which aren't nearly as backloaded as one might have expected.

A weekender will cost in the range or $350-460 or $175-230 per night... pretty much what one might expect to pay at the Venetian during the dead of summer.

I know a lot of folks who fly into Vegas for week long annual trips tend to do some hotel jumping to maximize comps and/or rates. If you are one of those folks, $100 mid-week rates for a remodeled room at the Venetian are a total steal.

Regardless of how the math stacks up, adding a gambling component into the booking process - even if it's tenuous - is downright awesome.

Thanks to AT for sending this in.
