Tropicana Removes 'New Tower' Promo From Website

As we had predicted in a previous post, it was only a matter of time before the folks at the Tropicana faced the music and removed the preview of their future plans from the homepage of the hotel's website.

No real surprises here, as the company has been in serious financial hot water since losing their Atlantic City gaming license.

This is a testament to parent company Tropicana Casinos & Resorts' swift change in direction since replacing their embattled CEO William Yung with a new one, Scott Butera. Mr Butera known in the casino biz as an all-around Mr. Fix-It.

Since the replacement, they've not only redesigned chunks of their website and hired a new PR firm, who contacted us a few weeks ago to offer up their new boss for a potential interview. We've got to give them props for turning to an independent Las Vegas tourist publication to try and do some damage control, although we'll only believe that they truly mean it when we get Mr. Butera to answer our questions.

In other related news, the Tropicana has started a Yahtzee-inspired Roll 4 Gas mid-week promotion wherein you roll four dice upon check in. Prizes include a buffet for 2 (three of a kind), Island Tower Jacuzzi Suite Upgrade (straight), $100 cash for gas (four of a kind) all other rolls win a semi-lousy Funbook.
