Riviera Remodels Rooms With Flat Screens, iPod Connectivity

The Riviera Hotel & Casino has embarked on a "multi million dollar remodeling project" of their entire hotel room offerings. As mentioned in the above graphic - poached from their website - the remodeling project began in April and will be complete in October 2008.
It's apparent from these, and nearly all of the room remodel photos we've been posting, that brown and burnt sienna are the new hotness in terms of color schemes.
In addition to updating the beds and decor, the rooms are getting a healthy dose of technological wonderment in the form of flat panel tv's and iPod docking options.

Then there's the old question... will they raise the room rates? The answer is a 'medium yes'. The screen shot of the Riviera's rate card (taken June 12, 2008) mid-week rates range from $59 during the summer heat to $199 towards the end of October. As an aside : the red block in August is when the DefCon hacker convention happens at the Riv. Weird shit happens during DefCon - they turn off all the ATM's, signs and displays get hacked, LED boards all over town become blue screens of death and other wonderful pieces of hackery.
Despite the economy currently being a big turd bomb, the next few years really are going to be a great time period for Vegas tourism - nearly every joint worth the sand they're built on is upgrading their room offerings, tons of new joints opening, lots of new attractions and two exciting new Cirque du Soleil shows.

Comments & Discussion:
i stayed at the riv when the frontier implosion (great view), and there were already flat screens there but the picture quality wicked sucked... ide give up the flat screen for hot water though cause there was none...
Still not enough to make me want to stay there again. With the Stardust gone, I honestly have no need to even hang out on that part of the Strip.
