Vegas : Where Hair Metal Legends Go To Play Country
Unless you were a teenager during the fist banging days of the mid 1980's you probably have zero idea who Ron Keel is. For those who were there and remember... Ron Keel needs no introduction.
Back story: Ron Keel started out in the topsy-turvy world of heavy rock as lead singer of Steeler (featuring young phenom guitarist Yngwie J. Malmsteen) then started his own outfit KEEL who scored about five or so hit singles and sold a ton of records before disintegrating in the aftershocks of sonic invasion from Seattle.
Keel's more famous chartings was a 1986 cover of the Patti Smith/Bruce Springsteen collaboration "Because The Night":
So what does this have to do with Vegas? Mr. Ron Keel currently lives in Las Vegas and is the producer and one of the featured performers in the Country Superstars Tribute show at Fitzgeralds downtown. I know zip about country music so who he's impersonating is lost on me.
One has to wonder how Mr. Keel would react to shouts for KEEL classic The Right To Rock would be handled from the stage. Spyder?

Comments & Discussion:
He is impersonating Ronnie Dunn of Brooks and Dunn. Maybe this is a natural progression from the Rock n Roll Outlaw video. They were cowboys in that video.
