Vegas Collectables at Main Street Antiques

If you're a Vegas freak like me, chances are you poke around on eBay looking for chips and other casino crap to add to your collection. I've often wondered why there isn't a dedicated joint that sells vintage Vegas crap like chips, dice, fixtures, signs, post cards and other days gone by items.

On the way out of town in February I spotted Main Street Antiques but didn't have the time to stop off, but made a mental note to visit next time.

Well, next time was this past Tuesday - to meet up with DonnyMac and Spyder, who were in town from Calgary (more on that later).

Main Street Antiques is located on Main Street about half way between the Gamblers General Store and the Plaza, on the west side of the street. If you're in the market for any kind of oddball Vegas collectible - vintage chips, ashtrays, glasses, chips, dice, postcards, adverts, books, furniture, neon signs, whatever - do your self a favor and block out a coupla hours to explore the vast array of stuff at Main Street Antiques.

The joint is set up kinda like an 'antique mall' with different booths having collections of items which I believe are rented by different sellers. The prices overall are a little high in my opinion, but I'm sure those with the time and patience to scour the millions of items they've got there, you'll be sure to find that perfect Vegas item for your card room or collection.

Frankly, I wish they had a search engine for the store that would return a map based on tagged RFID sensors to help you find stuff. There's so much shit here it is truly unbelievable and probably impossible to absorb in just one trip.

Unlike the Gamblers General Store the dice and chips they sell are actual vintage artifacts, not reproductions.

Tell them that VegasTripping sent you and they'll give you extra special treatment.

Comments & Discussion:

Gotta check this place out. I also enjoyed having cocktails with ya at 2 of Vegas' finest establishments the El Cortez and The Plaza!!! Good booze with good friends.

This may sound silly, but I'm looking for a "Welcome To Fabulous Las Vegas Nevada" rug in the 5' X 8' size to put on my lobby floor. It will replace the Marilyn Monroe from "Seven Year Itch" rug I current have (The edges are rolling). Anyone got any ideas where I may find one?
