Palazzo Grand Opening Chips

We finally got a chance to check out the Palazzo over the weekend. Overall, it's a pretty nice property. The casino floor is incredibly reminiscent of the Venetian Macau in its spaciousness (its a very large rectangle with very high ceilings). The main foot traffic arteries are quite wide - wider than the Venetian Las Vegas and about equal to the Venetian Macau's. There's a lot of spiffy decor that isn't exactly finished, however the builders seem to be aware of some of these dings and dents because they have put blue construction tape on or around them.

We'll have bunch of photos and whatnot coming in the next day or three, but wanted to share this one of the Venetian Palazzo's grand opening casino chip.

I've never been a big fan of the photos-embossed-into-a-chip design sense, but that seems to be the way everybody is going these days. I'd post a photo of the reverse side of the chip, but it's identical to the front side - weak. Even the 101 year old Golden Gate casino has different images on either sides of its 100th anniversary casino chip. One might think that the latest and greatest multi-bajillion dollar resort would at least make heads or tails on its chips... for the grand opening no less.

Comments & Discussion:

oooohh I need to get one of those for my collection...

I was next door Chuck. At Venetian, under the covers. Shivering and sweating with a nasty bug. Didn't leave the room til Monday morning.

I only got in two days out of the five. To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement, there was so much I wanted to do.
