Architectural model builder Howard Digital has posted photos of their models for the proposed Tropicana upgrades.

Howard Models is an architectural model builder based in Ohio. In addition to making models, they also do architectural renderings of all manner of buildings. They've got a lot of groovy stuff on their site that will definitely suck you in for an hour or two. Gorgeous stuff.

Here's one of the Tropicana Las Vegas images, there are 8 model photos in total on their site.

There's a whole bunch more - at higher resolution and dimension - on the Howard Models website, definitely go there and see what the Tropicana may look like in the next few years.

Comments & Discussion:

Judging from the models, those wanting to see the Tropicana imploded will get part of their wish. The models show one of the existing towers staying (the one closest to the current front entrance), but the other existing tower is gone.

Anyway I doubt this will ever get built. The way the current owners are messing up and the fact they lost their New Jersey license, lead me to think they will end up selling off the LV Trop to someone else before they ever turn one shovel of dirt in a refurb of the place.

that's true, the folks who own the trop have been a bit of a punching bag lately in the New Jersey and Las Vegas media. They seem to be blaming a lot of the issues that have caused their bad press on the unions that represent their workers, claiming in an ad in the LV Sun that workers purposefully put sand in the urinals, called in sick and did a horrible job cleaning Tropicana AC. They also claim that Jeff Simpson's piece about Trop LV workers being told to delay cashing their paychecks was poorly researched, and possibly rigged by the Culinary Union. I have no idea, really, who's telling the truth, but one fact can't be disputed - there's some degree of turmoil going on between the owners of the Trop and the workers/union. Morale problems and employee sabotage (if true) generally don't pop up out of nowhere, whether it's orchestrated by the union itself or caused by Trop owners handling of cost savings measures. I'm sure at some point Nevada Gaming regulators will have to poke their noses into the situation, at the very least to see if any of this hubub is affecting quality of visitor experience.
