Jackpot: Free Vegas Art at SkyMall.com

I don't know about you, but I absolutely love thumbing through the SkyMall magazine when I'm on the plane. I'm continually astounded by the products they sell, and even more baffled at the outrageous prices too. Knowing my SkyMall fascination, Mrs. Mo brought back a SkyMall mag after taking a plane trip.

As a gag, I whipped out the SkyMall mag the other night and proclaimed that we were on a quest to purchase 1 gift for each other. The hitch was, we weren't supposed to look what the other person purchased, and somehow the combined total would have to be less than $30. We took turns thumbing through the mag, folding over dog ears, circling stuff, ripping pages out and bookmarking until we both came to the conclusion that there was noting we found suitable. Being dorks, we fired up SkyMall.com and poked around for a bit when I happened to stumble across this:

Las Vegas Skyline 48x16

Great Big Canvas GBC48961S

NEW! Beautiful City Skylines and Panoramas From Great BIG Canvas

Great BIG Canvas presents this beautiful Skyline of Fremont Street, Las Vegas. The finished Canvas is 48" x 16" x 1 1/2" - That's four feet long! The super hi-resolution photograph is faithfully reproduced onto genuine artist canvas. The canvas is then hand stretched onto heavy-duty "museum" wooden supports. The canvas is "gallery wrapped" so that the image wraps onto the sides of the canvas. The canvas is professionally packaged with hanging hardware.

The price: $.00. Other similar items are going for about 150 bucks.

I haven't tried to order it yet, but most shopping carts have a "order total cannot be zero" programming exception to keep things like this from happening but it might be worth it to give it a shot. Even if you have to buy something thats like 10 bucks, you're getting a 140$ wall hanging for free. Sounds like a steal if it weren't kinda ugly.

Anyways, if any of you freaks want to give it a shot, let us know what happens. Here's the link to the Free Vegas Wall Hanging Thing a Ma Jig at SkyMall.

Comments & Discussion:

I went to the site and decided to give a try, I am making a Vegas room in my basement and thought it might look good down there, it would not let me purchase it without paying for shipping so I said what the heck, shipping was 19.00 dollars, this all took place on Jan 3, as of today Jan 5 I have not heard from sky mall, if they are shipping the picture or not, but I did check the web site again and the picture is no longer free, it is 159 dollars, I suspect I will get a letter saying they cannot ship it or something else, I will fill you in when I get the final results., thanks for the tip.

I did get the pictures A very larg box was waiting for me one day and sure enough it was the Vegas picture, Now it is worth 19 bucks, but it is way too ugly for159.00 but it is now hanging in my basement.
