Wayne Newton Tells off Deceased Johnny Carson

Vegas legend, Wayne Fucking Newton showed up on preservative filled TV talker Larry King's CNN gabfest to talk about his illness, Dancing With The Stars and resurrect an old conflict with deceased King of Late Night, Johnny Carson.

After some prodding about Wayne's feud with Johnny Carson, our hero stepped up to the plate retold the entire story.

Well, what happened is I had done his show many, many times and considered him a friend of mine. And all of a sudden, a whole new brand of humor started to be displayed by him. And he was in that humor questioning my masculinity [implying Wayne was gay etc - CM]

I called his agents, I called his manager, I called his attorney. I went through probably a year-and-a-half of trying to reach him. And when none of that worked, I went to see him.

I went to NBC, Burbank, and walked down the halls into his office, and Freddy de Cordova, his producer, was in the office with him. And I walked in, unannounced, I said to Freddy, I said, would you excuse us, please? He was so shocked that he did get up and leave. And I said to Mr. Carson, I said, ĎI donít know what friend of yours Iíve killed, I donít know what child of yours Iíve hurt, I donít know what food Iíve taken out of your mouth, but these jokes about me will stop and theyíll stop now or I will kick your assí.

According to WFN, Johnny responded "I'm your biggest fan!"

I said, ĎDonít give me that crap. Donít give me that. I am here to straighten out whatever your problem is. And whichever way you want to straighten it out is fine with meí.

Iím going to say something Iíve never said on television, Mr. King, Johnny Carson was a mean-spirited human being. And there are people that he has hurt that people will never know about. And for some reason at some point, he decided to turn that kind of negative attention toward me. And I refused to have it.

Whew. Wayne also blamed Johnny for starting rumors that he had/has connections to the mafia.

I donít know anything about it. Iím an Indian boy from Virginia. You know, I donít know about that kind of stuff.

You don't spend your entire life working for every boss in Vegas and not know about that stuff. Cmon Wayne.

Comments & Discussion:

wow - wayne f on larry king - talk about irrelevant fossils. if you didn't see the verbal beatdown jerry seinfeld gave larry king (larry actually asked if Seinfeld (the show) was cancelled), go to youtube and search "seinfeld larry king" and let the hilarity ensue. larry king just needs to go away, and take ol' wayne f with him.

As much as I lurve WFN, he is wrong in this case.

1. Who freaking cares?
2. Late night hosts always take jabs at people
3. Thin skin, WFN. Toughen up, dude.

There's a reason the pharse "Don't speak ill of the dead" exists. WFN has gained nothing from retelling this for the bazillionth time. BTW, I thought he was from West Virginia.

Boy, am I on dope. WFN was born in Norfolk, and then moved to Roanoke, (Both in Virginia) in his childhood.
