Cityboom Has MGM Atlantic City Renderings

With the dust finally setting after our mega-redesign project, we're finally getting around to adding more cool stuff to all of our sites. The first of these is CityBoom : Atlantic City 2.0.

As you are probably aware, Atlantic City's casinos are being threatened by an incursion of slot parlors in Pennsylvania, racinos in Delaware and massive tribal casinos in Connecticut. As a result, casino operators in Atlantic City have hiked their britches up, grabbed some shovels and jackhammers and started to refurbish, reconstruct or announce brand new resorts. What we get out of this is high class dining, swanky rooms, gorgeous casinos and top level entertainment. Sounds like a good deal to me.

With all these big projects transforming Atlantic City from a bus junket paradise to a world class resort destination, the time is ripe (actually it was ripe about 10 months ago) for AtlanticCityTripping to have a dedicated spot to aggregate all of this stuff and publish renderings, photos, interviews and commentary along the way.

The first installment features a look into the sordid history of the first two attempts to build the MGM Grand Atlantic City including Steve Wynn's visions of Le Jardin and a little Borgata thrown into the mix as well. We've also got a new rendering of MGM Grand Atlantic City, which looks like spiky vertical mash up of CityCenter and MGM Grand Macau.

Let's go to Jersey and see what's up with MGM Grand Atlantic City, Borgata and Le Jardin. We'll stop off and get some cannoli on the way.
