Vegas Loses Arena Football Franchise To Cleveland

A second-tier sporting organization, the Arena Football League, have decided to fold their Vegas operations and relocate the team to Cleveland. Not that anyone really cares about Arena Football, but this doesn't bode well for local Las Vegas politicos efforts to lure a professional sports team to town.

What are your chances to get an NBA, NHL, MLB or NFL franchise if you can't even keep an Arena Football team in town? Slim to none, i'd guess.

Wonder what Mayor Goodman is thinking now.

In some ways, it really isn't an issue in regards to luring a Big Four pro team. The AFL has had a history of teams folding, relocating, and moving venues within the same city. Even the (now former) Las Vegas team was a relocated franchise. They came to Las Vegas from New Jersey,
