MTV Awards at Palms: Britney... Rock/Lee... Kanye... Martha Quinn MIA

A cable television station that used to play music on it held another one of their asinine awards shows at the Pearl at the Palms the other day. No doubt you've already read that the 'showstopping' performance by the Ex Mrs. Federline bombed, and Kid Rock and Tommy Lee got into a fight over Pam Anderson and Kanye West had a hissy fit backstage because he didn't win an award (again).

Oh how we miss thee, the original pioneers of video music. JJ Jackson, Nina Blackwood, Mark Goodman, Martha Quinn, Alan Hunter. A simpler time when talent meant something and the never ending spiel of celebrity gossip and sleaze didn't seep into every crevice of the entertainment world. An era when dorks like The Romantics could get away with poofy bowl cuts and leather outfits, when ugly mo-fo's like the J. Geils Band could rule the charts, and the girl next door with a grandmothers name was almost every teenage boy's dream boat. Oh Martha Quinn, where have you gone?

Comments & Discussion:

I just loved how justin timberlake was "challenging" mtv to play more videos. pretty sad when you have to ask what should be the primary outlet for your videos to actually play them, instead of Road Rules vs. The Real ("real" if the world were populated by nothing but Abercrombie & Fitch models) World Challenge

Where's Colin Quinn??? Remote Control was one of the funniest shows on MTV.
