Revel Entertainment Announces Plans for Atlantic City Project
Revel Entertainment, co-conspirators (along with investment firm Morgan Stanley) in the first new Atlantic City Boardwalk casino since the Taj Mahal opened in 1990 have revealed their plans for the property.
Revel is planning two 700 foot tall, 48-story hotel towers featuring approximately 2,000 rooms each. The price tag of the project is in the $2 billion range with grand opening tentatively scheduled for 2011.
With most of Atlantic City's casinos undergoing major upgrades or expansions the opening of the new Revel property may render these current investments moot and spur on a wave of implosions the same way Wynn Las Vegas has done for the center and northern end of the Las Vegas strip.
