Fontainebleau Las Vegas Launches Website

Fontainebleau Las Vegas recently launched an early stage version of their website at http://bleaulasvegas.com/. The site is a pretty basic affair and features some architectural renderings of the hotel and a handful of their public spaces as well as meeting room floor plans. The dining, accommodation and spa listings aren't very detailed but offer some insight into what to expect from Fontainebleau when it opens in 2009.

Design wise, the website is a bit of a yawner, but the resort itself looks great. The swoopy blue thing and boxy design is straight out of 2001 web design style guide. We're quite surprised to see Fontainebleau using VegasToday & Tomorrow's mini version of 'THEmap' instead of spending an hour or two to build their own or plug into Google maps API. Possibly the industrious Mr. Adams at Vegas Today & Tomorrow made a "architectural renderings for map usage" swap with the folks from Fontainebleau. Whatever it takes to get the goods - props to Mark who's had architectural drawings on his site before they were even drawn!

One interesting feature noted on their website is 45' tall casino floor ceilings. That's enormously large space from floor to ceiling for a casino. Casino usability studies often have conflicting reports on whether or not tall or low ceilings make players stay longer and feel more comfortable. The open space will probably lend it self well to Fontainebleau's swooping Miami styled architecture and sense of cool and oceanic levity.

Fontainebleau is headed up by Glenn Schaeffer, former boss of Mandalay Resorts before they got eaten by Kirk Kerkorian's MGM Mirage entity.

Comments & Discussion:

Wow, three coffee bars. What are the odds all three will be Starbucks?

Thanks for the props, Charles
If you check the site again, you'll see the new, custom map I created for them.
