The Future Flamingo?
While doing a little research regarding about MacauTripping, I stumbled upon this conceptual rendering on architect Paul Steelman's portfolio.
It is a conceptual drawing of a future version of the Flamingo. The presence of Barbary Coast as a 'gray box' signifies this was done before the Barbary/Bills deal was in the bag.
Check it out:

It is apparent that the Flamingo won't be imploded by this photo, but instead be built upon and spiffed. Of course, this is just a conceptual drawing and is not official in any way. Still interesting to look at.

A very interesting site, especially some of the concepts for existing casinos and some of the never built or will eventually be built casinos.
Flamingo, Tropicana; I hope they stay forever. Too many memories. Also, new construction might uncover buried stuff, ha!
Since this post has been resuscitated, let's chat. Do you like this rendering? I do. I'd be in favor of the Cromwell being a boutique tower for a renovated and upgraded Flamingo, with the glassed-in connector housing another restaurant or a high-end lounge.
I'd also be in favor of that glass corner embellishment between Flamingo's wings being some sort of crash pad for an uber high-roller. Think of the views down the Strip!
But what's with the one(!) car on Las Vegas Blvd.?
I remember when Harrah's acquired Barbary Coast, some of the thinking was that perhaps it would be turned into a boutique property as part of Harrah's grand plans to revamp the Flaningo and Harrah's as part of their answer to CityCenter. All of the acquisitions Harrah's made for this project really helped to pile on the debt. They have turned lemons into lemonade as it were, but the Flamingo is in need for some TLC.
^^ What about the Bourbon Street property? They bought the dump, imploded it, and now it sits empty, across from Bally's huge parking lot. I'd love to see their long-term plans or wish list, as it were.
