LuXor Launches BEAM - Desktop Deals Widget

MGMMirage proves again that their technological philosophy is the best in the business with the launch of the LuXoR BEAM - a mini PC application (widget if you will) that delivers deals to your desktop.

You may be asking... what's a widget? A widget is a very light weight application that primarily has one task - a clock, a game, search box, notepad. Widgets have been part of desktop computing for quite a while now, but only in the last few years have they really caught on. Apple's "Dashboard", Konfabulator (now owned by Yahoo), and 'Gadgets' in Windows Vista are the leaders in this space.

The LuXor BEAM connects to Luxor's servers and grabs the latest data - entertainment deals, room discounts, advance ticket sales, etc. and possibly more. It has three states (actually four) - when the application is maximized all current Luxor deals will be shown as well as some other marketing messages. In the Alert State, The BEAM sits on your desktop - operating in the background of your other tasks. When the widget senses an update from Luxor the pyramid will rumble and a light shoots out the top - You've got deals!. When the BEAM is minimized to the task bar the pyramid will animate when a new deal has been found. Simply click on THE BEAM to open the widget, read the deals and click through to the LuXor website to make your reservation.

This is very interesting stuff here, and has the potential for all sorts of direct marketing between the casino companies and their computer savvy customers.

The BEAM is powered by XTremeDesktops
