Pinnacle unveils plans for Sands Atlantic City Replacement
Pinnacle Entertainment, new owners of the Sands Atlantic City, have made some announcements regarding their plans to replace the recently closed property in Atlantic City. Inspiration for the project are clearly coming from what is 'working' in Atlantic City - namely Borgata and The Quarter at the Tropicana.
Pinnacle CEO Dan Lee thinks that the Sands site is "the best site in Atlantic City by far." Pinnacle's AC Vice President of Marketing Kim Townsend said "it will be unlike anything you have seen in Atlantic City", but went on to say the property will be as ground breaking as the Las Vegas Venetian. The as-yet-unnamed Sands AC Project will become Pinnacle's flagship property, at least until they build or purchase something in Las Vegas. Pinnacle failed in its bid to purchase the Las Vegas Tropicana last year.
Some highlights of the statement:
Sands will be imploded Fall 2007
The new construction will cost $1.5 Billion and open in 2012
Architecture will be similar to Pinnacle's Lake Charles property
150-500k square feet of retail
7,000 seat showroom
2,000 hotel rooms
