Bill's Gamblin Hall and Saloon Sends Barbary Coast Packing
Barbary Coast is no more. (sniff)
One of the last vestiges of low-rolling strip frontage, Barbary Coast, has been closed. Bill's Gamblin Hall and Saloon is now up and operational.
- Bills will be operated by Imperial Palace management (which probably means that Bill's lifespan is tied to IP)
- New chips, cards, dice and table layouts have been installed
- Outdoor signage will change in the next few weeks
- Big Elvis is still performing in the lounge
- Slot machines are being re-programmed to hook into Total Rewards
- Imperial Palace is still accepting reservations until Dec 2008.

Comments & Discussion:
That Total Rewards info in the Review Journal article may not be accurate. The casino's Web site has not Total Rewards info and refers only to "Bill's Players Club."
Since Bill's is being managed by the IP team, it's probably a safe bet that Bill's Players Club is essentially IP's club, which is only partially integrated with Total Rewards. Whether or not the club is IP/Bills or Total Rewards, the data is being collected and will be integrated in the long term - this is Harrah's bread and butter. Whether or not you'll be able to access those points for Total Rewards offers in the short term is really the question.
I can't wait to use my IP comps at Bills!
I hope I can stay at IP before that December 2008 deadline..
