The Latest Wynn Atlantic City Rumors

There are more rumors circulating about a possible three way deal that would bring a Steve Wynn resort back to Atlantic City.

Numerous New Jersey and Philadelphia news sources are reporting that Wynn is in talks with the state of New Jersey to repurpose Boardwalk Hall into the linchpin of a new Wynn casino project in Atlantic City. The historic Boardwalk Hall would be converted into a mixed use shopping and gaming center that would be integrated into a new property to be built over the current Trump Plaza. Evidently Trump and Wynn have been discussing an AC partnership for some time - a smart move for Trump, whose gaming business has been floundering for ages.

In a bid to lure casino mogul Steve Wynn back to New Jersey, State Sen. William Gormley (R., Atlantic) has proposed gutting Atlantic City's historic Boardwalk Hall to house a $3 billion retail mall and hotel casino.

Gormley told the Press of Atlantic City for yesterday's issue he wanted to preserve the facade of the historic hall while using its shell to house a mall, much like Union Station in Washington but with a casino hotel attached.

"You could use the building as a catalyst for economic revival without turning our back on history," Gormley said.
