The luck of the draw settled an election Thursday in Nevada.

Robert Swetich and Raymond Urrizaga each received 1,847 votes for county commissioner in White Pine County.

They agreed to draw a playing card to settle the race when the County Commission met Thursday.

Urrizaga drew first. He picked the Queen of clubs. Swetich pulled a seven of diamonds, then offered his congratulations to the winner.

The loser had the option to order a recall, at his expense.

A high-card draw also decided a tie two years ago in another county in Nevada.
