New Tropicana Owners Outline Demolition Plans
The Tropicana is about to undergo a major facelift according to the CEO of soon to be owner Columbia-Sussex Corporation. C-S CEO William Yung has mentioned that all lower tier buildings surrounding the aging Tropicana will be demolished shortly after C-S takes over.
"our plans are basically to keep the two hotel towers and showroom, and then pretty much get rid of everything else."
Yung continues by saying that another 3,000 room Tropicana tower will be built along with another 3,000 rooms that will be operated by a 3rd party (Hilton and Marriott were mentioned in the article.) The upgrade will come at a price tag of about $2 billion dollars.
