The Press of Atlantic City is reporting that casino mogul Steve Wynn has expressed interest in purchasing Bader Field in AC. The City's asking price: $1B, Wynn purportedly offered $200M. City officials are now saying Wynn didn't make an offer. A quick check of WynnAtlanticCity.com reveals the domain is being squatted.

In July, after several months of discussion, the city filed with the Federal Aviation Administration to close Bader Field Sept. 18, precisely 20 years to the day after it took a grant that required it remain open for two decades. Rumors have swirled in recent weeks that Las Vegas gaming mogul Steve Wynn, who owned the former Golden Nugget casino hotel in Atlantic City in the 1980s, was interested in buying the Bader property for $200 million. There were reports that Wynn wanted to divide the property into three or four casino development sites, similar to what MGM Mirage has proposed with land in the Marina District that now includes Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa. [city spokersman] however, denied that Wynn has made an offer for Bader.
