Stardust Announces Odds on Presidential Race
Thursday’s Reuters/Zogby poll showed a two-point lead for President George W. Bush over his Democratic challenger Sen. John Kerry.
And Sunday, Bush supporters will be cheering for the National Football League’s Washington Redskins as they take on the visiting Green Bay Packers, hoping a Washington victory will signify a second Bush term.
When picking the favorite for the Nov. 2 presidential election, however, there’s only one place to go: Vegas, baby!
The race and sports book at the Stardust Resort and Casino in Las Vegas — the mecca of line setting in the sports gambling world — currently has Bush as a 6-5 favorite to walk away with the presidency on Tuesday, said Bob Scucci, manager of the sports book at the casino.
Kerry is at even odds, he said.
When the line for this year’s presidential election was announced in August, Bush was listed as a 7-5 favorite.
After the debates, Scucci said, the president’s ratings began to slip.
